2008 Susan G. Komen Race Against Cancer

I was asked to film at the 2008 Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure held at Balboa Park on Nov 2TH. The event was an eye opener with so many people who had survived cancer and was there. It was a day for pink. I even had on a pink cowboy hat and was proud. I was there not only as a cinematographer, but also to learn more about cancer.
It was great and the turn out was in the thousands. The Team I was with was called Skywalkers, who had this large bra that got noticed very quickly. The footage looks like a professional Sony Cine Alta or a Panasonic Varicam had shot it. The Canon FS100 for $249.99 has done it again making my films look like a million bucks. On a side note, there is this beautiful woman I interviewed and she looks like Sandra Bullock. At first I thought it was her.

Since October is breast cancer awareness month, Lynn talks about the breast cancer 3-day in Philadelphia, PA. Well hear from some of the participants who walked 60 miles in three days to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
The Dallas YAD Participated in the 2008 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at Northpark mall. The 5K walk/run was to benefit breast cancer research and provides women a chance to get screened for early detection. This is truly a great experience for old and new, and we will definitely be doing this again next year with a larger goal and more people!

The NY Avon Walk superstars were invited to a celebratory dinner at God’s Love We Deliver (GLWD) in September 2008. We had a tour of the facilities and met many of the people involved with this very worthwhile organization. GLWD’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. They prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to people who, because of their illness are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves. They also provide illness-specific nutrition education and counseling to their clients and families, care providers and other service organizations.
