i’m doing a project in school and i was wondering if anyone knows about a name of one of those cure for cancer walk/ marathons that have already have happened and how long it was??

All marathons are 26.2 miles.

The best known races are the “Race for the Cure.” Many of these are 5Ks (3.11 miles). Link: http://ww5.komen.org/getinvolved/komenraceforthecure.html

It is also very common to find local races that benefit a particular type of cancer or that raise money or awareness for a certain kind of cancer.

Does anybody else find this just greedy. I understand its for a charity and good cause, but theres no way I can participate now?

I think you're supposed to ask for donations. I'd hope anyway.

I was right. You can also get a group of people together to split the donation amount. You don't pay yourself, you get donations. You need to register first and the site also has a list of donators and you can get your own.
