Like walks for cancer, diabetes etc

I just don't know where to look or get info on it
I would start looking at local hospital websites. Hospitals sponser many of the walks. Also your local american cancer society might have some information or even go to the websites for some of the bigger walks like relay for life, or the breast cancer 3 day walk, ms society, etc. Libraries or local community centers may also have a listing of upcomming events.
