This year I will be training for the 60 mile 3 day Komen walk as well as my second half-marathon. The walk is 4 weeks before the run. I really want to focus on my speed for the run and improve upon my last run. The training advise for the 60 mile walk suggests that training should just be done in the form of walking. Any suggestions on how I could train properly to do both would be greatly appreciated!

Physiologically speaking, all you should really do is train for both at the same time. The 60-mile walk will end up training your slow-fatiguing muscles, while the half marathon will train your faster-fatiguing muscles. Overall, though, if you spend equal time on both you should be fine (it would be a problem if you had to train for a marathon and sprint at the same time).
